'vespa 46' at this year's EICMA milan

iconic italian motor-scooter company piaggio has showcased the new 'vespa 46' at the EICMA 2011 milan.
a modern version of the MP6 prototype, which was released in 1946, the vehicle combines the classic form
of the iconic scooter with a softened futuristic silhouette. also updated is the engine which has reduced
consumption and exhaust emission while lowering the noise level.

the scooter is available in both 125 and 155 cc versions, the first with a power of 8.7 kW at 8,250 rpm
and the latter 9.7 kW at 8,000 rpm. the front and rear lights use LEDs, while the body is made of aluminum.
piaggio as also developed a three-valve air cooled engine which it has designed especially for this model.
it will be on sale before the end of 2012.
